Navy Minimum Age Limit For Male/Boys:- The age limit is one of the basic criteria that has been set for each of the category in terms of boys or girls and the individuals must be under the age limit that has been set for the the various entry level offered by the Indian Navy which have been mentioned below:-
  1. Artificer Apprentice (AA):- The cadets apply for this trade are required to be under the age of 17 years to 20 years.
  2. Senior Secondary Recruit(SSR):- Candidates applying for the sailor or SSR entry level must be under 17 years to 21 years.
  3. Matric Recruit(MR):- For the entry level of MR the age limit has been set as between 17 years to 21 years.
  4. Non-Matric Recruit (NMR):- The individuals who apply through the NMR entry level should 17 years to 21 years.  

Navy Minimum Age Limit for Girls/Women:- The female individuals are offered the opportunity to be recruited under the 6 major branches of  the Indian Navy which require different criteria and qualification as per the prescribed qualification:-
  1. Naval Architecture:- Age limit required for the post is between 19 years 6 months to 25 years. 
  2. Observer:- Candidates are to be between the age of 19 years to 24 years.
  3. Education:- Individuals between the age of 21 years to 25 years are eligible to apply for the  post.
  4. Logistic/Work:- 19 years 6 months to 25 years is the age required for this trade. 
  5. Law:- Individuals should qualify under the age limit of 22 years to 27 years.
  6. ATC:- 19 years 6 months t 25 years is the age limit prescribed for this unit of the navy for female individuals.

As the individuals qualify under the age limit criteria the candidates must also have the educational qualification that is required for each of the trade and entry level for the individuals to be declared eligible to under go the selection process. Indian Navy Educational Qualification For Female/Girls


The 6 branched of the Indian Navy offered to the female candidates require distinct educational qualification as mentioned below:-

1).Naval Architecture:- Individuals must have the qualification of BE.B Tech Degree in BE/B.Tech
(Mechanical/civil/Aeronautical,Metallurgy and Naval Architecture) with the least 60% in aggregate.

2).Observer:- Individuals should possess -BE.B Tech Degree in any discipline with Physics and Maths in 12th as compulsory.

3).Education:- BE.B Tech Degree in any discipline with Physics and Maths in 12th as compulsory subjects/2nd class Masters Degree form any recognized university in Physics, Maths, Chemistry, English, Mechanical Engg, Electrical Engg, Engg. Computer Science/Technology, Post Graduate in Humanities/Arts(Economics or History or Political Science).

4).Logistic/Works:- This branch is divided into three major units which require diverse educational qualification as follows:-
  • Logistic Cadre:- BE/B.Tech with 1st division/MBA/Bsc./B.Com/Bsc.IT(1st Class)/Pg Diploma in Finance/Logistics/Supply chain Management/Material Management/MCA/MSc.IT(1st class).
  • For Work:-BE/B.Tech(Civil)B architect.
  • For Catering :-MSc.(HM)/MBA(HM)?BSc/Ba(1st class)/PG Diploma in Hotel Management(HM).

5).Law:- Individuals must be a Law student with a Law Degree for their enrollment as advocates under the Advocate Act 1961.

6).ATC:- Individuals must have a BE/B.Tech Degree in any discipline with the subjects of Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects in 12th standard during academic year from any educational board.

The educational qualification that is required is very complex for the female individuals thus we advise the individuals to read the information thoroughly and carefully in order to understand the requirements as set and the trade the individuals is eligible for depending upon the education qualification one possess.

Martial Status:- The martial status criteria requires the candidates to be Unmarried(Men/Women).

Nationality:- Individuals must be an Indian citizen or a subject or Nepal or Bhutan or the individuals(Refugee) settled in India before or since 1st January 1960 are eligible to apply for the Indian Navy recruitment.

  • Weight:- Minimum weigh of the candidates must be 48 kg to 50 kg.
  • Chest:- Candidates must have a the chest measurement of minimum of 77 cm with 5 cm expansion.

Physical Requirements for Female/Girls:- However for the female/women candidates the physical requirements are required under the physical standards of the following :-

  • Height:- Minimum of 152 cm or if the candidates possess more than the minimum  required height will only benefit the individual.
  • Weight:- Female/Women candidates must weigh between 60 kg to 75 kg.
  • Eye Sight/Vision:- The individuals must have a good eye sight or vision ability with 6/6 in terms of both eyes.
